Where can I get more information?”][vc_column_text]
This website is a great place to start! I have gathered plenty of information that gives you an idea of the vast amount of funding that is available, including some educational videos that will introduce you to the world of grant and loan funding. The best way to get going is to watch these.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Now that I know that government funding is available, how do I apply for it?”][vc_column_text]
That’s a good question because there is a specific, right way to request grants and loans to demonstrate that you should get the money. Unfortunately, some people don’t know this, and they just keep trying without any success. I have spent a lot of time and money researching exactly what works best so that you won’t need to waste time with the wrong strategies, and let opportunities pass you by.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Are grants available everywhere?”][vc_column_text]
Yes, they are. Each area has its own specific combination of grants, loans, and subsidies so it’s important to know what’s available for your specific area. In my Free Money course, I go into a lot of detail on how you can find everything that you are eligible for.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Why would the government give away money?”][vc_column_text]
People are often skeptical that the government would be willing to provide money to its citizens. The fact is, they are, they do every day, and more funding programs are being approved all the time. The key is that government grants exist to solve problems. The purpose for the funding is to improve a situation in a way that will help benefit society. For example, the reason for energy upgrade funding for your house is that everyone wins when there’s less energy wasted.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’m interested in a funding program I heard about. How can I learn more?”][vc_column_text]
In the free videos on this website, I provide you with an overview of the process. There are several factors that are important to increase your chances of securing the funding, such as whether it’s offered where you live (or if there’s a similar program in your area), what the timeframe is, whether you’re eligible (or how you can become eligible), and the best way to show that you should receive the funding. These are lessons I cover in my Free Money course.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Do I need to be a non-profit/registered charity to qualify for funding?”][vc_column_text]
No, you don’t. This is a common misconception. There is a lot of funding for non-profits, but also plenty that is allocated for individuals and for-profit businesses. I teach you more about both of these when you become my student.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Who decides whether I receive funding?”][vc_column_text]
For some government programs, the eligibility standards are pre-determined, while other funding is competitive. For the competitive funding, a grant reviewer will typically review your application or proposal and judge its merits against others they receive. This is why your request for funding has to be the best case you can make, in the correct format, polished, professional, and structured to showcase your qualifications. When you’re my student, you have the advice of the Grant Funding Expert to help you with this, plus I’ll even review your application or proposal before you submit it and offer feedback.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I have a bankruptcy in my credit history. Will I be eligible to apply for grants?”][vc_column_text]
Yes. Your personal credit history is not normally a factor when applying for grants, and the funder will not have access to your credit history at all. Funders are more interested in whether you can use the grant money for the intended purpose.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Is there a limit on the number of grants I can apply for?”][vc_column_text]
There are generally no restrictions. You should apply for as many grants as you can qualify for. In some cases, though, you do need to let potential funders know where else you are applying. I explain this fully in the Free Money How to Apply manual so that you will know what to disclose, and how.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’ve identified more than one funding source for my project. Should I apply to that one source or apply to all?”][vc_column_text]
Definitely apply to all the funding sources that you may qualify for. You increase your odds of success, plus increase the potential amount of funding you could receive. Here’s something that most people don’t know: Funders actually like to see that you are seeking funding from a variety of sources and will view your application or proposal more favorably when you do. A funder doesn’t want you to be completely and solely reliant upon their money for your survival.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][dt_gap height=”50″][vc_separator][dt_gap height=”25″][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”BUSINESS” tab_id=”1382603896618-3-6″][vc_accordion active_tab=”false” collapsible=”yes”][vc_accordion_tab title=”What kinds of funding can I get for my business?”][vc_column_text]
There is a wide variety of purposes for which business funding is offered. What is funded the most at any given time can often depend upon what the government’s priorities are. There may be funding, for example, for hiring, expanding, purchasing new equipment, expanding your market, training for new or existing employees, hiring a summer intern… the list goes on.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Which types of businesses are eligible?”][vc_column_text]
Different funding programs are targeted to either a specific type of business or are available for all types, depending upon the funding guidelines. It may be targeted according to either the business sector or the business owner. For instance, some funding is allocated for high-tech enterprises, while other funding may be awarded to women-owned businesses. Typically ,the location of your business will determine what is available where you are, and for my students who are using their email consulting, I can help identify all the funding programs that your business may qualify for.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’ve heard that I need to have a business plan to get funding for my business, but I have no idea how to write one. What do I do?”][vc_column_text]
There are several ways that you can go about assembling a good, effective business plan, depending upon various factors such as your own writing skill, how much time you have, whether you’d prefer to pay a professional writer, and more. In my Free Money course, I have extensive instructions to help you every step of the way if you choose to write your own business plan, plus resources for sample business plans that you can refer to. In addition, a service I offer my students is free review and feedback on a business plan that you have written. If you would prefer to have someone else write it for you, I have suggestions and resources for that too, plus I will also offer a second opinion to my students who have had their business plans written by someone else to help ensure top quality.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”At which stage of business is funding available?”][vc_column_text]
Funding may be available for all stages of business startup and growth, but will vary, depending upon what is being offered at a given time in the area where your business is located. Governments like to encourage the launch, growth, and hiring in small businesses, so there often are grants or low-interest loans offered to help small business owners. I can help my students identify exactly which programs are available for your future or current small business.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I need to hire more employees. Is there money for this?”][vc_column_text]
Frequently, there is. Governments have a strong, vested interest in keeping unemployment levels low because it is an issue that directly affects citizens. You can probably think of examples where you are, where elections have hinged on the level of unemployment. As a result, elected officials are often eager to fund initiatives that help small businesses hire and train employees. I help my students find programs for their businesses, and have even used one in my own business to receive a government subsidy for hiring an employee.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I want to start selling my business’s products to overseas markets. Can I get funding for this?”][vc_column_text]
Governments like to fund programs that help business owners open new import export markets. The economy of a country is considered healthier when there is a good level of trade balance with overseas markets, so the government encourages businesses to sell across borders. Often, they will provide funding for activities such as attending trade shows, making exploratory trips, and conducting feasibility studies.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][dt_gap height=”30″][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”EDUCATION” tab_id=”1382603902292-4-3″][vc_accordion active_tab=”false” collapsible=”yes”][vc_accordion_tab title=”When can I start applying for college or university funding?”][vc_column_text]
Each educational grant or scholarship has specific guidelines for who can apply and when the funding cycles are. In some cases, you may even start applying for post-secondary education funding up to two years before attending, but it is more common for the guideline to be for students to start applying in their final year of secondary education. You will want to apply as soon as you are permitted to, because some funding cycles are closed when the currently available funds get used up.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”What should I do to prepare to receive the maximum amount of college or university funding?”][vc_column_text]
Many scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, athletic skill, or need. During your secondary education, striving for good grades and taking part in sports will increase your chances. Also, doing community service or volunteer work can help you qualify for scholarships. However, if you’re not academically or athletically talented, don’t worry. There are other scholarships that target a variety of other factors such as where you live, what you’re studying, what your background is, and lots more. I have helped many of my student identify and secure scholarships that they were eligible for, including cases of multiple scholarships and fully-paid university attendance for four years.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’m already attending college or university. Is it too late for me to get funding?”][vc_column_text]
Definitely not. Many scholarships and educational grants are targeted to the field of study and achievement at the post-secondary level. In addition, there are research grants, fellowships, work study programs, and much more that is geared to the college or university student whose studies are underway. I help my students find and secure funding at all stages of their academic careers.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”My kid’s grades are not too good. Are we out of luck for getting funding for higher education?”][vc_column_text]
Many people make the mistake of giving up on the idea of scholarships because their son or daughter is not a star student. While many scholarships are awarded on the basis of good grades, there are many others that are not dependent upon that. The key is to think of all the different factors that may qualify you for a scholarship, and they’re not all necessarily obvious. I help my students look for both mainstream and unusual scholarships.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Are there subsidies for private grade schools?”][vc_column_text]
There are some. Some parents may want to send their children to private schools, for a variety of reasons, but worry about the high costs. I have had students who were pleasantly surprised to find that there was funding to help their child attend private school.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”What is the best strategy to save on high tuition costs and, hopefully, graduate debt-free?”][vc_column_text]
Think creatively and take advantage of all the free money and cheap loans that are offered to help you pursue higher education. The key is to be aware of the full spectrum of potential funding sources–and there are a lot–and apply for funding wherever you are eligible. I often provide my students with long lists of possible educational funding resources.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][dt_gap height=”30″][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”REAL ESTATE” tab_id=”1382603981646-4-6″][vc_accordion active_tab=”false” collapsible=”yes”][vc_accordion_tab title=”My heating bills are out of control, so I want to upgrade my home’s energy efficiency. Are there subsidies for this?”][vc_column_text]
There often are energy upgrade subsidies offered at various levels of government. In addition, there may be incentives from private sources as well. The government has a vested interest in reducing overall energy consumption and helping its citizens not go broke paying their heating and cooling bills, so there often is an energy upgrade incentive being currently offered, or planned in the next government funding cycle.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’m interested in real estate investing. Is there money for this?”][vc_column_text]
There is a variety of ways that incentives may be offered to real estate investors. The type of help offered depends upon a area’s revitalization plans and housing priorities. I have had students who received money for purposes such as buying a property to rent out, having guaranteed government money cover most of their tenants’ rents, and funding for upgrades that including a new porch on a rental property.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’m ready to buy my first home! Is there grant funding to help me?”][vc_column_text]
In most cases, yes. Governments like to see a large number of homeowners because it is considered an indicator of quality of life and citizens who have an interest in improving their communities. As a result, there are many programs that help first time buyers overcome any hurdles they may have to purchasing, and become proud homeowners. Some examples of first-time buyer programs are down payment subsidies, second mortgages that may be forgiven, help with paying closing costs, reduced interest rates, and even a special $100 down program to encourage first-time buyers to purchase foreclosures. There may also be special funding and subsidies for buying in targeted zones. I’m excited for my students who are going to become first-time homeowners, and I help them get all the financial help they’re entitled to.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I need repairs on my home and want to find out whether there’s government money to help me with the costs.”][vc_column_text]
There often is funding to help you make repairs to your home, especially when you need to fix an unsafe condition or improve the energy efficiency. The funding may be in the form of grants, low-cost loans, or forgivable loans. I help my students determine what is offered in their area and have assisted a number of them with securing funding for home upgrades and repairs.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I’ve heard that teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other groups can buy a house for a reduced rate. Is this true?”][vc_column_text]
Yes, there are places that do offered a big price break on housing for people in specified occupations. You could potentially save a lot of money by taking advantage of one of these programs.
