If there is so much money available, why doesn’t everyone already know about it? While governments are good at putting money into these programs, they spend very little on making citizens or residents aware these funds exist. Most programs are not even advertised! The Business Grant Fund, provided by St Helens Council, offers grants to both start-ups and established businesses and can provide between £500 and £10,000 to assist small to medium-sized firms expand and create jobs. To date, 50 local companies have benefited from more than £125,000 of grant funding for a wide range of business development projects, helping to support the creation of 72 new jobs in the borough.
